I mentioned this not just to remind you that everything in life, including success, has ups and downs. The down part of it is still a success, but you need help seeing it. So, do not allow the difficult times and dry seasons to dampen your spirits. Instead, find joy in the details and keep a positive outlook. Keep Your Mental Health In check while running your business and side hustle. Thats, by the way, investments are observer dependent, for me it looks like a time to buy more.
Social Media Fast
Growing up, I heard more about fasting as abstaining from food for spiritual gain. But as time passed, I wondered how much more meaning there was for fasting or how we had found more things to fast on and more benefits.
We now have:
- food fasting
- intermittent fasting
- Ramadan fast and the Christian fasting
- water fast
- junk fast
- Caloric restriction
Someone mentioned Social Media Fast, and that jumped at me because it sounded more challenging than a food fast and probably had more benefits. I am starting on the first of July and going to the 14th. It would be dry, but I look forward to a perfect time to reflect on my life journey. It means we can fast, literally from anything. It greatly benefits from the spiritual sense of the word to the physical benefit.
Family!
How Do You All Do This?
Having a job, a family, and a child to care for is a heavy-duty blessing. While it is a joy to behold, you mostly try to catch up with time.
I am learning new things from and with my eleven-month-old son. I didn't know about children's shows when I was young, and cartoons were never my thing. I used to laugh at my university roommates when they watched cartoons. I couldn't imagine sitting down to watch those inanimate things. But these days, my son pins me down, and I could spend a whole day watching 'Miss Rachal' or some kids' cartoon with him. And you know what? They make a lot of sense.
Do you have a weighing scale at home?
Trust me, it's just a reflex question as I was writing this draft. I just thought of so much information we can get from knowing our weight and how it has changed over time, especially when we are interested in increasing or decreasing it. Weight is more than just a number; when combined with other parameters like height and lifestyle, it provides much insight into our health status, whether hidden or revealed.
Look After Your Body - the hidden parts
What would be your answer if asked which parts of our bodies are hard to maintain?
Caring for and maintaining some parts of our bodies can be challenging due to various factors such as sensitivity, complexity, visibility, or susceptibility to specific issues. As a doctor working in the Emergency room, I am careful when it comes to the human eye, but that doesn't mean other areas are not worth being cautious about; you know that extra care that you have to place when you know what role this part play and how handicap one becomes without them.
What about you?
Here is a list of other parts that might fall into that category.
Teeth
Consistent dental hygiene is essential. Issues like cavities and gum disease are common.
Nearly 47% of adults aged 30 and older have some form of periodontal disease, and 90% of adults have had at least one cavity in their lifetime.
Brush and floss regularly, avoid sugary foods, and visit the dentist twice yearly.
Skin
Skin faces constant exposure to UV rays, pollution, and varying weather conditions as the largest organ. Acne, eczema, and ageing signs are usually common concerns.
About 85% of people between 12 and 24 experience acne. Additionally, 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70.
Use sunscreen, follow a consistent skincare routine, stay hydrated, and maintain a balanced diet.
Hair
A combination of b genetics, diet, stress, and hair care habits influences hair. Common issues include hair loss, dandruff, and split ends.
Approximately 50 million men and 30 million women in the U.S. suffer from androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness). Dandruff affects about 50% of adults globally.
Use appropriate hair care products, limit heat and chemical treatments, and eat a nutritious diet.
Feet
Feet endure daily pressure and friction, which makes them susceptible to calluses, blisters, and fungal infections. Foot care may become neglected; sometimes, people only pay attention to it once they experience pain and loss of function.
About 24% of adults experience some form of foot problem, and around 15% of people with diabetes will develop foot ulcers.
Wear comfortable shoes, keep your feet clean and dry, and moisturize regularly.
Back
A healthy back requires good posture, regular exercise, and avoiding strain. Back pain is a common issue due to sedentary lifestyles and poor ergonomics.
Around 80% of Americans will experience back pain at some point. It is also the leading cause of disability worldwide.
Maintain good posture, engage in back-strengthening exercises, and lift objects properly.
Nails
Nail health may become a problem by biting, improper trimming, and exposure to harsh chemicals, leading to frequent problems like fungal infections and brittle nails.
About 10% of the general population and 20% of people over 60 have nail fungus. Nail biting affects 20-30% of people, especially children and adolescents.
Keep nails clean and trimmed, avoid biting, and use moisturizing products.
Eyes
Eyes are prone to strain from excessive screen time, poor lighting, and lack of rest. Conditions like dry eyes and myopia are common.
Approximately 75% of American adults use vision correction, with myopia affecting about 30% of the population. Around 16 million Americans suffer from dry eye disease.
Take breaks from screens, use proper lighting, and schedule regular eye check-ups.
Ooh!
Did I miss the genital?
It's more sensitive.
Please tell me what you think.
By understanding these challenges and implementing these tips, you can better maintain these critical body parts, ensuring long-term health and well-being.
Is there such a thing as a self-love clinic in reality?
The answer is yes.
A friend once told me that the first thing he does when he gets his salary is to go to a restaurant and eat whatever he likes, to his heart's content. He added, "I've worked hard to earn it." I laughed and asked him what kind of food he usually eats there. He replied, "Anything, and I wash it with one or two cans of beer."
That's the problem: We can't figure out what perfect self-love would look like when our understanding of a healthy lifestyle and nutrition is limited.
What our body wants to have and what it truly needs is different. The reason is that the body is childish in what it wants, and the mind dwells on those thoughts.
